C  10 c

Notice over the last note of this piece is a half circle with a dot in it. This is called a fermata. Some popular names for it are a HOLD or BIRD'S EYE. It is used to hold a note for approximately 1 1/2 times its normal value. It is up to the player to determine how long to hold a Fermata. In an orchestral setting you will often see a conductor stop on a note and have the players hold it until he feels that it is time to resume the count.
